Welcome to Providence Elizabeth House, a beautiful apartment building in West Seattle’s High Point Hope VI Community. We are pleased to offer HUD-subsidized, safe, comfortable apartments to seniors ages 62 and older.

In addition to providing residents with a beautiful place to call home, we also have an on-site Service Coordinator to help residents identify and access a wide range of local services and resources to help you get the most out of life.

In order to submit an application for housing at Providence Elizabeth House, you must meet the following initial eligibility requirements. Other eligibility criteria for housing will be verified when an application reaches the top of the wait list (e.g. criminal background check, student status, etc.).

  • At the time of application, the head of household, spouse or co-head of household must be 62 years of age or older
  • Maximum household size for a one-bedroom apartment is 2 persons
  • Applicants must disclose their social security numbers at the time of application, and will be required to provide documentation during the initial eligibility process 
  • Household income must be at or below HUD’s financial criteria for receiving rental assistance, which is 50% of the Area Median Income for King County, WA. HUD income limits as of June 25,2021 are as follows:
    • 1-Person Household: $40,500
    • 2-Person Household: $46,300
    • 3-Person Household: $52,100
    • 4-Person Household: $57,850

Please note that we will run a tenant screening report when qualified applicants reach the top of the wait list. There is no charge to applicants for running the report, and the report is usable only for properties owned and managed by Providence. For information about our screening criteria, refer to the Tenant Selection Plan. If you have completed a comprehensive reusable tenant screening report at another property, you may choose to share that with us, but you are not required to do so.

Providence Elizabeth House is a four-story secure apartment building with elevator access and a total of 74 apartments. Each one-bedroom apartment is approximately 515 square feet and some of them offer views of the city while others offer views of a neighboring park, a P-Patch or the community’s beautiful raised garden beds.

We are a non-smoking community.

We also offer on-site support services coordination to help residents identify and access local resources. Our staff can also advocate for residents who need assistance.

One small pet is allowed with a pet deposit.

Activities

At Providence Elizabeth House, we really enjoy celebrating special occasions and holidays together! We also like to keep our monthly calendar full with a range of activities and events to foster community and provide residents with opportunities to explore new things. Our activities calendar includes:

  • Valentine’s Day celebration
  • St. Patrick’s Day celebration
  • Women’s History Month celebration
  • Black History Month celebration
  • Mother’s Day tea
  • Father’s Day BBQ

  • Knitting/crocheting (weekly)
  • Movie night (weekly)
  • Bingo (weekly)

Throughout the year we also provide residents with a variety of educational/training sessions on the following topics:

  • Emergency preparedness
  • Fall prevention
  • First Aid
  • Community awareness and involvement
  • Awareness of senior services

Some of our residents also participate in the Providence ElderPlace program. On weekdays, a van from Providence ElderPlace picks up qualified residents and shuttles them to the ElderPlace Center less than one mile away for health care, rehabilitation and social services.

The EIV And You Brochure describes HUD’s Enterprise Income Verification system, which we are required to use to verify sources and amounts of income.

The Seattle SDCI - Renting in Seattle Renter's Handbook explains the rental process and has need-to-know rental regulations, fair housing laws, tips and practical advice on common rental issues. All City of Seattle properties are required to provide a copy at application.

Getting Started

Interested in living at Providence Elizabeth House? Follow these steps to check your eligibility, review some important information about applying for and living in HUD subsidized housing and complete your application.

Completed applications must be printed, signed and mailed to the management office of the House(s) you’re applying to. Applicants who appear to meet all eligibility requirements will be added to the wait list and will be contacted when their application nears the top.

Now you’re ready to complete your application materials. Please review these materials carefully, and complete all sections of the application and attached documents. Incomplete applications will be returned to you, causing a delay in adding your application to the wait list. If you have any questions while you are completing these materials, please contact the management office.

Please sign your completed application materials and mail them to the address listed on the application.

Notice: Under Seattle’s Fair Chance Housing Ordinance SMC 14.09, landlords are prohibited from requiring disclosure, asking about, rejecting an applicant or taking an adverse action based on any arrest record, conviction record, or criminal history, except for registry information (SMC 14.09.025(A)(3)) or exclusions and other legal requirements in SMC 14.09.115.

If your phone number or address changes, or you have a change in household composition, income, or other circumstances that may affect your application, you must contact the office to update information on your application.

Providence Elizabeth House is part of the newly-redeveloped High Point community in West Seattle. With beautiful tree-lined streets, easy access to shopping and restaurants and a lush park across the street, you are sure to enjoy living here.

Providence Elizabeth House is just one block away from a bus stop with access to two major bus routes. Qualified residents can also take advantage of King County Metro’s Access Transportation or Hyde Shuttle to schedule door-to-door ride service to get around town.

We are close to a several different stores including Safeway, Thriftway, QFC and Trader Joe’s. You can also find a wide variety of retailers at the West Seattle Junction, in Jefferson Square or in Westwood Village.

For your health and wellness needs, the High Point Medical and Dental Clinic is less than two blocks away and there is a walk-in urgent care clinic within one mile of our apartments. We are also close to Walgreens and Bartell Drugs pharmacies.

Living in West Seattle means there are plenty of spots for you to enjoy the outdoors. The closest place is right across the street at the High Point Commons Park. The park has a lot of open grassy spaces, an educational bee hive enclosure and a P-Patch garden. Other great outdoor spots include Longfellow Creek, Alki Beach and Lincoln Park.
